WebDec 16, 2009 · Durring the many grows I've had I've noticed that a 30 min on and 1hr off works best with hydroton rocks. When I switched over to higromite (Discount Hydroponics - Higromite) I dont know why I ever used hydrton in the first place.I hate hydroton now and will only use higromite. out of all the grows its easier to maintain and the plants love them.

WebSep 16, 2009 · For all those still using hydroton I would definitely dump the sh*$ and look into a product called HIGROMITE . It is pH nuetral, contains high amounts of silica essential in strengthening cell walls and plant tissue and is much better at water retention than anything else on the market.
