They will be awarded five GCSEs in the core subjects - English Language, English Literature, Maths, Science (2 GCSEs)- and they will then supplement that with the 4 GCSEs they will be awarded in their 4 option subjects. WebGCSEs are really important only as an indicator of how well you are likely to do at A level, and since your average GCSE result must be about 8 or 8.5, that’s the part that counts.
